On Tuesday, July 1st, five Girl Scout Gold Award recipients met
with Mr. Warren Buffett to kick off the new Thin
Mint Blizzard at Dairy Queen. Everyone had a great time and Mr. Buffett had words of wisdom for all. Here is what
he said to the Girl Scout who asked for advice for college students:
"don't be a burden to your parents and stay away from credit card
debt."

Two Items not on the flier:
The ticket office
would prefer troops/groups to order tickets vs. just one or two here and
there (although they will send tickets out that way, too).
Girl Scouts who call
to get tickets need to say they are with Girl Scouts in order to get the
discount.

2008
Lincoln Day Camp
“Spirit
Stick”
Details…..
The energy given off
at the 2008 Lincoln Day Camp was on full blast, especially with the
introduction of the "Spirit Stick". Each group was
asked to work together to create a skit, cheer, song, or whatever else the
girls came up with to show their Girl Scout spirit and excitement for day camp.
During the closing ceremony at camp each day, the groups performed
their creations and competed for the coveted "Spirit Stick".
The Red Lucky Charms won on July 29, the Blue Kiwis captured the award on
July 30, with the Blue Bananas winning on July 31. Congratulations to
all of our "Spirit Stick" winners! The competition was
fierce, and we look forward to even more girls catching the
"spirit" in Nebraska!
